How many readings can I get with a new CR2 battery?
With a new battery you should get about 1,000 readings.
Can you recalibrate a Halo Rangefinder?
You cannot recalibrate a rangefinder. If the range is off or incorrect, please contact our customer service team so we can process your request and see if we can provide a replacement.
Can you range through mesh or a window?
No. Our rangefinders will not operate through glass or shoot-through mesh - such as in a ground blind. Fog and rain can also impede the unit from ranging the correct distance.
Can you change the color of the reticle?
No. The color of the reticle is not changeable.
Is there a low battery icon on my Halo Rangefinder?
If the low battery indicator appears on the screen, the battery should be changed. A low charge can cause a ranging error.
What is AI?
AI stands for "Angle Intelligence." This technology provides the distance measurement compensated for all types of terrain - incline or decline. To learn more about Angle Intelligence and other rangefinder technology, visit our Technology page.
Do you have to calculate angle with the AI Rangefinders?
No. Angle Intelligence operates automatically. All you have to do is click on the object to range. The number shown is the accurate distance, compensated for slope to target.
What is Scan Mode?
Scan Mode allows for the constant ranging of multiple targets at different distances. To learn more about Scan Mode and other rangefinder technology, visit our Technology page.
How do I use a Halo Rangefinder in Scan Mode?
Press and hold down the power button. "Scan" will then appear on the screen. As you move between targets (still holding down the power button), the on-screen distance measurements will also change. Release the power button to leave Scan Mode. This technology can be used in any ranging mode.
Are Halo Rangefinders waterproof?
Halo rangefinders are water-resistant. However, they are not completely waterproof.
Do Halo Rangefinders have a power save mode?
Yes. The unit will automatically power off after 20 seconds of button inactivity to conserve battery life.

Order Questions

What business name will show on my credit card statement?
Halo Optics is a brand that is part of the GSM Outdoors group of brands and companies. Please be aware that charges for your purchases will appear on your statement as being from GSM Outdoors.
My credit card was charged but I didn't get my order. What do I do?
When you place an order on HaloOptics.com, a temporary hold is placed on your credit card. This will show as "pending" on your credit card statement. Payment doesn't actually process until your order ships. If for any reason your order doesn't go through or ship, that pending payment will drop off your statement within a few days.
I placed an order on halooptics.com but still haven't gotten my product. Where is it?
Throughout the order process you should receive two emails from us. The first confirms your order was successfully placed and provides your order number. Check to make sure you have this email. If you didn't get it, we probably didn't get your order.

The next email to arrive confirms shipment and includes a tracking number. Click on that number to go to the UPS website where you can follow your Halo Optics order on its way to you. If the package shows it has arrived but didn't, or if the tracking information isn't updating, it's best to contact UPS directly to figure out next steps.

The product I want is out of stock. How do I place an order?
Occasionally some of our most popular products get sold through faster than we can make them. Rest assured we're aware of the stocking issue and are working to get the item back on HaloOptics.com for purchase. Once that happens, you'll see the "Out of Stock" message change to "In Stock."
Do you ship to p.o. boxes?
Unfortunately at this time we do not deliver orders to P.O. Boxes. We apologize for this inconvenience and are working to resolve it!
